Identity Fraud: Man Faces Charges for Obtaining ID and Passport Illegally
Investigation officer Gachii Gakure testified in a Milimani Court that the suspect, charged with false identity, is not a Kenyan citizen and fraudulently acquired a Kenyan passport and Identity Card.
Gakure presented documents from the registrar of persons in Isiolo, revealing that there was no Chief Letter supporting the registration of Abdihakim Said Jama as a Kenyan.

He further stated that the suspect’s claimed father is a fictitious individual, and the alleged mother, Fatuma, who he claims is deceased, is actually alive and has testified in the case. During re-examination, Gakure emphasized that the process through which the suspect obtained his ID and passport was fraudulent, as those who supposedly approved his birth certificate denied ever meeting him.
Jama is accused of providing false information and presenting fake documents to a public servant in order to obtain a Kenyan ID, falsely claiming to be the son of Fatuma.
