Kevin Mwachi Mahila, Morgan Asengi Mahila ve Mohamed Hassan Mohammed,Between April 29, 2023, and May 5, 2023, in Nairobi, alongside other individuals not present in court, they are accused of delivering a black envelope containing fake gold nuggets to Abdi Edin Mohammed with the intent to defraud him of 2,600,000 Shillings. Additionally, they face a second charge of obtaining money through false declarations. During the court proceedings, Abdi Edin Mohammed recounted that he withdrew 2 million Shillings from his Equity Bank account and handed over the money following a meeting with Mohamed Hassan in Eastleigh. While narrating the incident, he mentioned that he received a call from an unknown number.

He stated that the gold consignment package was delivered to him on April 2nd, but upon opening the sealed package on April 5th, he discovered it was filled with salt. The complainant, as a director of a registered company, mentioned that he recognized two suspects at the Muthaiga Police Station, although he was not present there at the time of their arrest. The suspects were arrested on October 20th and were brought before the court on October 23rd; they have been in custody since that date. The indictment also notes that the arrest was made without a search warrant. In the case where Abdi Edin Mohammed is a witness, investigations are ongoing, and more evidence is expected to be presented in future hearings. The case has been adjourned to continue on July 21st.
