Flex Air Charters Director Charged with Theft of Over Sh60 Million: The Shocking Details

A director of Flex Air Charters Limited, Nicholas Ngatia Njoroge, has been formally charged with multiple theft offenses totaling over Sh 60 million.
During his appearance before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi, Njoroge pleaded not guilty to four counts of theft by a director, as outlined in Section 282 of the Penal Code, Chapter 63, Laws of Kenya. The allegations against him include the purported theft of USD 18,170 from the company’s US Dollar account at Guaranty Trust Bank (Kenya) Limited, occurring between August 22, 2022, and February 3, 2023.
Additionally, he was accused of misappropriating Sh 27,121,814 from another account at the same bank during the period from July 28, 2022, to February 18, 2023. Further charges indicate that between December 2, 2020, and May 28, 2022, Njoroge allegedly stole USD 57,394 from the company’s dollar account at Co-operative Bank, as well as Sh 32,777,320 from a Kenya Commercial Bank account between November 30, 2020, and August 31, 2022. The court has set his bond at Sh 10 million, with an alternative cash bail option of Sh 5 million.
