Caught in the Crossfire: Mulamwa and Ruth K’s Online Argument
Urudishe Meno Yangu: Mulamwa and Ruth K's Social Media Showdown

Comedian Mulamwah has stirred up a significant reaction on social media with a revealing post about his tumultuous breakup with his former partner, Ruth K. In his statements, he accused Ruth of being swayed by “fake friends” who provided poor advice, which he claims contributed to their separation.
He alleged that while they were still living together, Ruth began making arrangements to move out and even bought items for her new home.
Additionally, Mulamwah accused her of disparaging him in a WhatsApp group, where she reportedly claimed he was HIV positive, a revelation that he found particularly damaging.
He expressed frustration over her actions, which he believes led to the loss of sponsorship for his stand-up show, and offered advice to avoid seeking validation from others. Furthermore, he extended an apology to his previous partner, Carol Sonnie, suggesting that Ruth’s influence had a negative impact on his past relationship.
“I had a beautiful marriage until you (Ruth K) came. Kumbe ulikua unakuja kunimaliza? (So, you just came to destroy me?) Pole sana CARROL (I’m very sorry, Carol), though it’s water under the bridge now.”
He continued, addressing Ruth K: “Hizo story unataka kutupea wewe leta chai tuunde nazo dooh online – we own some of these blogs – Pia mimi nina zako – for me i stand for facts and i fear no one , Nimejaribu kukufunikia for long imekataa, hizi platform mnapewa mnatumia vibaya sana, – Halafu urudishe meno yangu.” (Those stories you want to give us, just bring the ‘tea’ [gossip] so we can make money online with it – we own some of these blogs – I also have things on you – For me, I stand for facts and I fear no one. I’ve tried to cover for you for so long, it has failed. These platforms you are given, you misuse them badly. – And also, return my teeth.)
Meanwhile, Ruth K took to her Instagram to share her frustrations, asserting that she has been trying to heal for barely three months since their separation, amidst widespread disrespect. She affirmed that this disrespect has been meted out both privately and publicly, leaving her emotionally drained.
Despite not mentioning Mulamwah directly, it was evident he was the subject of her post. “Sometimes silence is taken for granted. It’s been barely 3 months since the breakup, and I’ve faced disrespect in ways you wouldn’t even imagine, publicly and worse in private. I’m trying to heal, to gather myself emotionally, but it’s draining,” she wrote in part.
Ruth further disclosed that Mulamwah had reversed a KSh 5,000 transaction he had wired into her account. Subsequently, she accused him of screenshotting her photos, for which she had spent a considerable sum to create.
“You send 5,000 and reverse it, then have the nerve to screenshot a photo I put so much effort into? The audacity is loud enough,” Ruth’s post further read.
Concluding her statement, Ruth noted that she has been pushed to her limit and will be sharing her side of the story soon. “Enough is enough. I take my respect back, one day I will tell my story,” her post summed up.
