Albert Ojwang’s Death: Nairobi OCS Talam Arrested in Shocking Turn of Events

Nairobi Central Police Station’s Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Samson Talam, has been apprehended in Eldoret following a comprehensive operation linked to the death of Albert Ojwang while in police custody, a case that has ignited significant public outrage.
This arrest marks the third suspect taken into custody in connection with the incident, which has raised serious concerns regarding police conduct. Investigators reported that Talam attempted to evade arrest by fleeing and deactivating his mobile phone as law enforcement closed in on him.
Ultimately, he was located and arrested, subsequently being handed over to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for further investigation. Talam has emerged as a key suspect, as numerous witnesses and other individuals involved have implicated him during the ongoing inquiry by the IPOA. Ojwang was initially detained at his residence in Homa Bay on charges of disseminating false information and was later transferred to Nairobi, where he was processed at the Central Police Station.
Tragically, he died after allegedly suffering severe physical abuse while in custody, prompting widespread public condemnation and renewed scrutiny of police practices. In addition to Talam, two other police officers and a technician accused of manipulating surveillance footage related to the case have also been detained.
