Lawyer Yashim Butende to the police; Don’t kill the youths in the next Anniversary Protests
Yashim Butende to Police: Ensure Safety for Youths in Upcoming Anniversary Protests

Youthful vibrant Kenyan advocate Yashim Butende has urged the police to refrain from using force in the next weeks protests as it is the only way of avoiding protests related deaths.
Speaking to this publication yesterday, Butende said that the next protests culminates from the extrajudicial killings that resulted from the last year’s anti-finance bill protest.
” The youths will be coming to the street on June 25 to mourn their collegues who died as a result of police brutality, i call upon the police to refrain from using force and killing them further, they will be doing their constitutional duty of calling for justice,” said Butende.
Butende also condemned the recent infiltration of peaceful protesters by goons who looted and destroyed properties in the city.
” What happened in last week’s protests is unfortunate and unacceptable, we saw hired goons with crude weapons invading peaceful protesters, harming them and stealing properties,” he said.
He further urged the government to avoid chest thumping and previous mistakes that led to widespread protests in the previous days.
Asked whether he will join the protest. Butende said that he will join Kenyans in calling for justice for the lost souls and calling for good governance
